The best time to schedule your baby’s 1st birthday photo session is about two weeks before their actual birthday. This allows enough time for me to professionally edit your photos and deliver your gallery before the big celebration.

HOW LONG DOES A 1ST BIRTHDAY SESSION LAST?

1st birthday sessions are 1 hour in length.

Outdoor 1st birthday photo sessions are held at beautiful local parks within 20 miles of Lake in the Hills, IL. These sessions are available seasonally from mid-May through mid-September, when the weather is ideal and the natural light helps create soft, timeless images.

Outdoor locations offer a relaxed setting where your little one can move freely, explore, and have fun — making it easy to capture real smiles and sweet milestones. These sessions are perfect for families who want a natural, candid look.

Please note: outdoor cake smashes are not included. If you’re looking for that classic cake smash moment, an in-home session would be required.

I don’t typically use props for outdoor 1st birthday sessions, as the natural setting provides a beautiful and timeless backdrop on its own. However, you’re more than welcome to bring any small props you'd like to include — such as a favorite toy, banner, blanket, or a special item that adds a personal touch.

These little details can help reflect your child’s personality and make the session even more meaningful.
